The JAYDance Program
Cultivating Connection & Collaboration
The JAYDance program channels the power of movement to transform the lives of people living with disabilities through free, inclusive movement classes. Every participant begins with an individual assessment to identify their unique needs, including posture, mobility, balance, coordination, strength, and foot alignment. Based on these assessments, our staff develops personalized exercise programs that target each participant’s challenges and goals, helping improve everyday movement, independence, and overall quality of life.
This program places connection and collaboration at the forefront, with Basic Ballroom dance students partnering directly with neurodivergent participants of the JAYDance program. Long-lasting interpersonal relationships are developed over the course of the program year with weekly individual lessons geared towards the needs of each student. Through a cycle of mentorship between world-class studio faculty and young professional student dancers at Basic Ballroom, this program equips the next generation of dance teachers with the information and experience to instruct students of all learning and physical abilities.
Using dance as the foundation, participants develop coordination, flexibility, strength, balance, body awareness, and confidence through engaging, music-based activities. Classes incorporate hand-eye coordination, reflex training, injury prevention, and functional movement exercises that support skills needed beyond the studio.

About Our Classes
Ballroom Dance Program
At the Jayden Foundation, we believe ballroom dancing is much more than learning steps—it is a powerful way to build a connection between the mind and body, develop confidence, and create skills that can positively impact everyday life.
Our program introduces students to both Latin and Standard ballroom dancing, with students learning a variety of traditional ballroom styles. In our Latin program, students are introduced to dances such as Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive, developing rhythm, coordination, body control, and musical awareness through each style. Our Standard program includes Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, and Quickstep, allowing students to explore different rhythms, patterns, movements, and forms of partner dancing. Each dance provides a unique opportunity for students to practice listening, remembering sequences, coordinating movement, and responding to music.
Through learning rhythms, counts, patterns, and steps, students are encouraged to listen, process information, remember sequences, and translate those instructions into coordinated physical movement. This creates a meaningful mind-body connection, helping students develop greater body awareness, concentration, balance, coordination, and confidence.
Parents have personally witnessed immense improvements in their children’s coordination, focus, body awareness, and ability to connect their thoughts with their movements. Skills developed through dance can extend far beyond the studio, supporting greater confidence and independence in everyday activities.
Personalized Instruction for Every Student
We understand that every student is different. That is why our instructors take an individualized approach to each class, adapting instruction to meet the student’s unique abilities, interests, comfort level, and goals.
Classes can be tailored to a student’s musical preferences, allowing them to connect with the activity through music they genuinely enjoy. For students who may be more comfortable without music, instruction can also be performed without music, focusing instead on counts, movement, repetition, and physical awareness.
Our instructors adjust the pace, complexity, communication style, and exercises based on what works best for each individual. Whether a student needs additional repetition, simplified movements, visual demonstrations, verbal cues, or more challenging exercises, our goal is to create an environment where every student can participate and experience success.
Movement, Strength & Physical Development
Each class also incorporates an exercise and physical fitness component designed to support strength, mobility, balance, flexibility, and overall physical development.
Through carefully selected exercises and dance-based movements, students work on areas such as posture, core strength, mobility, coordination, balance, and body control. Improving these physical foundations can help students move more comfortably and confidently while developing greater awareness of how they carry and use their bodies.
Posture is an especially important part of our program. Ballroom dance naturally encourages students to become more aware of their alignment and positioning, while targeted exercises help strengthen the muscles and mobility needed to maintain healthier movement patterns.
More Than a Dance Class
Our goal is not simply to teach students how to dance. We want to give every individual an activity they can look forward to—one that challenges them physically and mentally while allowing them to express themselves, build confidence, and experience the joy of movement.
At the Jayden Foundation, we strive to create a welcoming environment where students are encouraged to progress at their own pace and celebrated for every accomplishment, big or small. By combining ballroom dance, individualized instruction, physical fitness, and meaningful connection, we hope to give our students skills that extend beyond the studio and into their daily lives.
